Kiwi Ears has collaborated with Hi-Fi audio reviewer HBB (Hawaii Bad Boy) from YouTube’s Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews. HBB is a prominent global reviewer for IEMs and headphones, and his extensive experience with Hi-Fi audio has been instrumental in developing this collaboration. The Punch reflects HBB’s preference for quality bass, making it an excellent choice for bass enthusiasts.
The Punch is a bass-lover’s ideal IEM. With a 15dB subbass emphasis driven by a 10mm composite dynamic driver, the Punch delivers strong impact in the low end. Its bass is robust and well-defined, offering a satisfying subbass experience.
In line with Kiwi Ears’ commitment to tonal balance, the Punch is tuned to sound natural and well-rounded despite its prominent bass. The subbass is carefully controlled with a clear cutoff from the midrange, ensuring the midrange remains neutral and clear. This tuning makes the Punch suitable for on-stage monitoring, particularly for drummers and bass guitarists. The treble is also adjusted to offer a monitor-like sound, with a natural curve to match the human ear's frequency response.
The Punch includes two imported Sonion electrostatic (EST) drivers per side, extending the treble range up to 40kHz. This configuration captures subtle details in music while maintaining a natural sound, making the Punch well-rounded in both the low and high frequencies.
The Punch utilizes the latest version of Knowles drivers to enhance the midrange. The RAB 32257 series drivers feature an open-vented port, allowing improved airflow for a fuller, richer sound.
The Punch is designed with a 3-way passive crossover network, with each driver type routed through separate sound tubes. This tuning strategy combines passive and acoustic crossover techniques to achieve a cohesive sound.
The Punch comes with a high-quality cable with a 2-pin (0.78mm) connector, compatible with other universal 2-pin cables. This design allows users to personalize their listening experience and enhances the IEM's durability.
